About Lauren
Lauren is a strategic leader with extensive experience advising nonprofit, education sector, and start-up clients. With expertise in strategic planning, the design of systems, processes, and operations, and staff leadership, Lauren provides consultation with CEOs and their leadership teams.
Sweating the small stuff, Lauren is committed to making sure the ball is never dropped through meticulous project planning; she knows that this level of organization is necessary in order to remain flexible and ready for the unexpected. She is an expert in managing up, supporting executive leaders to set strategy, build operational systems, and prioritize (including by learning to say "no" when necessary). Lauren is a values-driven leader: diversity, equity, inclusion, and liberation are her professional north stars. Personally, she is driven by her commitments to social justice, family, lifelong learning, and community building.
In 2024, Lauren serves as Fractional Chief Operating Officer at Hopebound, leading an Executive Director talent search and overseeing their finance and fundraising strategy. She is also currently engaged with Intertribal Agriculture Council, supporting the C-Suite through a period of unprecedented organizational growth, staffing structural changes, and an internal change management process.
Lauren began her career in New York City’s public schools, teaching high school English and middle school Writing. After leaving the classroom, Lauren served in various leadership roles in the nonprofit sector, spanning from hyper-local organizations to internationally-focused nonprofit networks. She holds a Master of Science in Teaching from Fordham University and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Boston University. She has completed coursework focused on nonprofit budgeting from Duke University and coursework on facilitation and the transformation of individual and group performance from Georgetown University's Institute for Transformational Leadership.
In her free time, Lauren can be found creating pottery in her home studio, running slowly, practicing yoga, or walking her dog. Lauren, her husband, and son are based in Aurora, CO.
